How to manually unlock your Volkswagen

Here’s a question you might never have thought to ask when shopping for a new car. How do you unlock the doors manually? If you look at your Volkswagen, you won’t immediately notice a keyhole. If you drive a model with push-button start, you might even be thinking that you don’t have a key. It can’t be impossible to open the doors on your Volkswagen without the key fob, right? Of course not. Here’s how you get into your VW when the battery runs out on your remote. Read the rest of this entry »

2018 Volkswagen Tiguan S Standard Features

Say you’re on the hunt to find the perfect toaster. When you go to shop, you already know that there are going to be toasters that do the job of merely toasting a piece of bread, while there are going to be others that have six lots and special settings for bread, English muffins and bagels. It’s easy to identify where you land in the grand scheme of “starting prices” for appliances. You know without even doing any research if you’re looking for the very cheapest option or if you plan to invest a bit more. Buying a vehicle is similar to this, even if you’ve already selected a specific model because of automotive trim levels. Are you looking for the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan S and it’s many standard features, or are you seeking out an option with advanced driver assistance systems and much more? Golf GTI TCR Red and Gray

Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR Production

To be clear, the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR isn’t a new vehicle name, in the sense that the model is an actual touring car. That is to say, a vehicle that is built for actual track racing, but based on a production vehicle. The Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR that could go into production for a wider audience is a road-ready concept model that has a capped speed of 155 mph, but can be increased to 164 mph by removing the electronic top-speed limiter. Does Volkswagen have Android Auto and Apple CarPlay?

There was a time when having an aux-in plug was high-tech for modern drivers. Then Bluetooth became a desired feature, though for most brands it’s now a standard. The newest infotainment demand to hit the market? Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.  Though infotainment systems are much more advanced than we ever could have predicted, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay take things a step further. Many of us are accustomed to the use of our smartphones, which are heavily designed and upgraded every year. It only makes sense to bring this technology to your radio. The question is, does Volkswagen support them? Read the rest of this entry »

VW I.D. R Pikes Peak Performance Specs

Volkswagen is a brand known for its participation in motorsports, particularly in rally. One race we haven’t seen the iconic VW logo at in recent years (decades)? The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Volkswagen last participated in 1987, when its highly-modified Golf model didn’t quite make it to the top. You see, the hill climb is different from other races because it requires drivers to make a steep climb up 4,720 feet to the 14,115-foot summit of Pikes Peak. In a typical vehicle, depleting oxygen at higher elevations leads to reduced power. This doesn’t impact electric vehicles, which is why Volkswagen is proud to introduce the I.D. R Pikes Peak. Do the performance specs suggest it will be enough to create a new record? Read the rest of this entry »

They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but we’re willing to wager there was a time or two when you tried to skip it as a kid. VW Atlas Tanoak and VW Atlas Cross Sport

Volkswagen is one of those brands that has had the same models to entice loyal shoppers for decades. Though many of them, such as the Beetle and the Golf, remain popular choices in the lineup, the automotive world could be said to have sized up since the introduction of these compact options. VW has a strong hold on markets where smaller vehicles are still the top selection, but America is not that market. Since the introduction of the 2018 VW Atlas and Tiguan, these two models have quickly proven popular. We’re talking 40 percent of sales in the U.S. market for the VW brand. Clearly, motorists here are looking for family-friendly models. This is why VW showed both the Atlas Tanoak and Atlas Cross Sport at the 2018 New York International Auto Show.
